2017: Workshop “Urban ecology: which soil invertebrates can be found in Tapada da Ajuda?” (Raquel C. Mendes) @ “VI Jornadas de Biologia do ISA”, 27-28 April, Instituto Superior de Agronomia (ISA), Lisbon
The goal of this workshop was to provide students with insights about urban ecology and soil ecology, particularly the contribution of soil invertebrates to ecosystem services and human well-being in urban areas. After a brief theoretical presentation the participants collected soil in different areas of ISA university campus and then, in the lab, they analysed the samples and identified the invertebrates found to understand the differences between land uses and debate about the importance of these taxa to people and to the environment.
